How do I take a deposit for a booking?
Send a payment link and hold the room until a deadline: if the deposit arrives the booking is confirmed, if not the dates go back on sale automatically.
A deposit without a deadline does not work: the room sits reserved for someone who may never come. A deadline with automatic release is enough to make guests decide.
Card, Apple Pay or a bank link work better than a transfer against an invoice, because the payment happens immediately and is matched to the booking automatically.
